I thought AI art was theft until my grandma's portait got restored for free
I used to post angry comments about AI art stealing from real artists, and I meant every word. Then last Saturday my cousin ran a 1962 photo of our grandma through one of those AI restoration tools and it fixed her cracked face, the torn corner, everything, in about 40 seconds. My mom cried when she saw it on the kitchen table in Fresno. Now I'm stuck, because no painter was ever going to touch that photo for what we could pay, and the old girl looked like herself again. Where do you draw the line between cloning an artist's style and fixing a family picture nobody was ever gonna buy?
