My old art teacher in Cleveland said my AI stuff looked 'dead behind the eyes' and I can't stop thinking about it
I showed her 12 pieces I made with Midjourney for a local gallery submission last month and she looked at them for maybe 30 seconds before saying that. At first I got defensive but she asked me to point out what I was trying to say with each one and I honestly couldn't. Since then I've been doing rough sketches by hand first and only using AI to fill in background stuff, and the two pieces I submitted that way actually got picked up. Has anyone else had someone close to them give feedback that stung but ended up mattering?
