Stopped fighting AI art and started feeding it my own trash sketches, and the hate mail stopped
I run a small illustration side gig out of my apartment in Baltimore, and a rival account on Instagram kept claiming my stuff was AI generated. After 3 weeks of arguing in comments I tried something different. I posted the actual process, 12 rough thumbnail sketches, 6 rejected color comps, and a screen recording of me redrawing one hand 9 times because it looked like a soggy chicken wing. The accusations dried up in about 2 days. Turns out people do not hate AI art nearly as much as they hate not knowing if a human touched the thing. I get that this sounds like a cheap trick, and maybe it is. But has anyone else tried just showing the ugly parts and does it keep working or did the angry comments come back?
