Rant: My nephew in Boise told me AI art is ruining real art, and I had to push back
My 22 year old nephew sat across from me at a diner in Boise last week and said AI image tools are killing real art, and he would not budge. I told him I run a small shop and I use a free AI tool to lay out part diagrams, and it does not touch the fact that I still have to turn the wrench. He said that is different because car repair is not art, and I said neither is most of what gets called art online now. The part that stuck with me is that he could not name one artist who actually lost work to AI, just people who felt weird about it. Has anyone else had a family member dig in this hard on the art angle?
