Saw a robot waiter in a Chicago diner that kept trying to serve people ketchup packets
I was at a place called Griddle 24 last weekend and they had this new AI waiter rolling around. It kept getting stuck by the same booth and offering everyone extra ketchup, even if they were eating pancakes. The manager said they've been training it for three weeks but it still fixates on condiments. Has anyone else seen an AI service bot get hung up on one weird task like that?

Read that ketchup thing happens a lot with early bots.

Imagine how much ketchup it must have scanned during training to get that obsessed. Sounds like its programming got stuck on the most common item it recognized. I wonder if it would try to give ketchup to someone just drinking coffee.

Actually, it's not about scanning ketchup a lot. The training data probably just had a ton of pictures of everyday objects, and ketchup bottles are super common in those stock photos. It's a pattern thing, not an obsession. It might suggest ketchup for coffee because it just links "beverage" to "condiment" in a weird, simple way.
