Hit 200 air fryer meals and surprised myself with the math
I keep a little notebook by the counter where I jot down every meal I make in the air fryer. Last Sunday I hit 200. That number shocked me because I only got the thing in March for my birthday, so that's about 4 meals a week for 7 months. When I flipped back through the pages, I saw chicken thighs, frozen hash browns, even a tiny apple crisp I tried on a whim. What mattered was not the count, but seeing how many recipes I actually stuck with versus the ones I swore I'd try and never did. Only 12 repeats in there, which means I'm still experimenting and not stuck in a rut. Has anyone else counted their total meals, or am I just the weird one with the notebook?
Only 12 repeats out of 200 means you never actually learned to cook anything well, you just keep throwing stuff in and hoping. I'd rather make the same five meals I've nailed fifty times each than brag about never making the same thing twice. A notebook that says "I tried a tiny apple crisp once and never again" isn't a win, it's a list of stuff you gave up on. Sticking with something and getting good at it beats being a tourist in your own kitchen.
