The old A&P in Amarillo told me to quit torquing by feel, and I still hear it 12 years later
He watched me snug up a brake caliper bolt by wrist strength in 2012 and said "son, your arm doesn't come with a calibration sticker," so now I log every torque value on a clipboard even when the job is a five minute swap, and I'm wondering if any of you still catch yourselves guessing on the small stuff.
Heard a guy on a podcast say the same thing about calibration stickers on your arm, made me laugh cause my old boss used to say your elbow aint got no torque spec either. I still catch myself guessing on little stuff like valve cover bolts but I try to grab the wrench now.
