A client in Tempe said my wire runs looked like a spider web

They pointed out a messy bundle behind their new panel, saying it made them nervous about future work. I started using Velcro ties and a label maker for every single run now. Do you think neatness actually affects how much a customer trusts the whole install?

Look, the jade is missing the point a bit. A neat panel isn't a guarantee of good work, that's true. But calling it just a "visual guarantee" is wrong. It's about respect for the next person who opens that panel, which is often the homeowner themselves for a simple breaker reset. If they see a rat's nest, they lose all confidence and just call another electrician out of fear. That costs them money and trust. Good work includes making it serviceable for the future, not just passing inspection today.

That spider web comment says it all. A messy panel makes people wonder what else you cut corners on. Velcro and labels are a smart fix, it shows you care about the details. Neatness is basically a visual guarantee that the work was done right.

The jade is right that neatness looks good, but a clean panel doesn't mean the connections are solid. I've seen pretty bundles hiding bad splices. A client should care more about the system working right for years than if the wires are straight. A spider web that passes inspection is better than a neat mess that fails.
