Hardwired vs wireless: I gambled on a full retrofit in an old Denver school and it paid off

Got a contract 6 months ago for a 1960s elementary school that had zero existing wiring. Every other installer I know said go wireless, faster and less headache. But I went hardwired after seeing the gym ceiling had real conduit paths already. Ran 48 zones over 3 weeks, plus 12 wireless bridges for the parts we couldn't reach. Customer was skeptical at first, but the signal stability in the boiler room convinced them. Anyone else trust the old bones of a building over new tech? What's your call when a building looks like a maze?

Old bones usually win when they hide conduit like that. Most folks panic and throw mesh everywhere, but that gym ceiling was basically a free highway. Boiler room stability is the real flex though, wireless dies there every time. Conduit paths from the 60s were built beefy for a reason. Three weeks for 48 zones sounds about right, you earned that patience. Trust the walls over the wifi, always.
