My old boss in Fresno said never quote a job over the phone, but a guy last week said he quotes everything that way
Sat in on a parts run with a tech who swears phone quotes cut his drive time in half and he just adds 15 percent for surprises. My old boss always said you eat the difference when the machine turns out to be a rusted mess. Which side are you on, quote it blind or roll a truck first?
