Dig log hit 800 entries and I realized I'd been cataloging the same pottery type wrong for 2 seasons
I was closing out our unit forms from the Hohokam site near Phoenix last Friday when the total came up 800 entries for the season. Sounds like a lot until I noticed 312 of them were flagged red as plainware buff sherds that should've been split by temper type from day one. So basically our whole ceramic count for two field seasons is mush and my supervisor wants a corrected spreadsheet by Wednesday. Two seasons of trench time and I'm redoing data entry instead of digging. Anyone else had to untangle a catalog mess this deep, and did you redo every entry or just flag the bad ones?
