The $80 torque wrench from the swap meet, actually accurate

Bought a used Snap-on torque wrench at a flea market in Bakersfield for $80. My buddy said I was wasting money, the calibration sticker was from 2019. Took it to a shop that does calibration checks, they said it was within 2% at 50 ft-lbs. Been using it on rod bolts and head studs for 2 years now, never had a failure. Anyone else luck out on sketchy used tools?

Betcha the calibration places are the real goldmine here. Guys drop off their Snap-on stuff and never pick it up, so the shops end up selling them cheap just to clear shelf space. You're basically getting a pro tool that some tech forgot about, and the shop already verified it works. That $80 is a steal compared to what a new one costs, plus you know it passed their testing rig.
