My date asked me to split the check three ways, with his imaginary friend

We were at a diner in Omaha, and the bill came to $47.50. He pulled out his phone, did some math, and said we each owed $15.83. I pointed out there were only two of us. He got real quiet, then explained the third share was for his 'emotional support persona' he brings on dates. I just paid the whole thing and left. Has anyone else had a date bring a third party that wasn't actually there?
