My mother in law watched me salt pasta water and asked why I bother wasting good salt
I used to dump a big handful in and call it seasoning, but she pointed out the water just goes down the drain and the sauce is what actually flavors the noodles. Now I salt way less at the boil and taste the sauce twice before it hits the plate, and dinner stopped coming out too salty. Does anyone else salt the sauce heavy and skip the pot altogether, or is that just asking for bland pasta?
