TIL microwaving a dry sponge for 60 seconds saved me from buying new ones every week
Back in 2019 I was going through sponges like crazy in my apartment in Boise, they'd get that sour smell after 3 or 4 days and I'd just toss them in the trash. My grandma told me to soak it in water with a splash of lemon juice and nuke it for a minute, and honestly the smell never came back, that $2 sponge lasted me almost a month. Has anyone tried this with those scrub daddy things or does the heat wreck the coating?
