Whoa hold on, I gotta push back on the framing a little. The 2007 RoboCop DVD was just a re-release with some extras and a fancy transfer, it didn't actually remake the movie or kill anything. The real killer of the original's soul was the 2014 RoboCop reboot, that's the one that watered down everything. That new one turned a sharp, bloody satire about corporations and violence into a generic action movie with a shiny suit. The DVD from 2007 is actually pretty good for fans, it's got the old cut and some cool behind the scenes stuff, so it's not the enemy here. If anything, that DVD is a time capsule of when studios still cared enough to treat the original like a classic. So yeah, the reboot deserves the hate, not the DVD.
