I finally realized my gym playlist was sabotaging my workouts at Gold's in Austin
Last Thursday I was grinding through leg day and my usual hype tracks just felt flat. I switched to a random podcast about urban planning mid-squat set and somehow hit a new PR on leg press. Turns out the constant drop beats were making me rush my reps and lose form. My buddy Dave laughed when I told him, but he tried it on his bench day and added 20 pounds to his working set. Now I only use music for cardio, and podcasts for lifting, which sounds backwards but it works. Has anyone else found that ditching the loud stuff actually helps them focus on the bar?

The PR on leg press is real, but "added 20 pounds to his working set" on bench in one session sounds more like Dave was sandbagging before. That jump usually comes from finally bracing right, not the podcast.
