Showerthought: people who say 'just drink more water' for clear skin have never lived in a humid place like Houston
I moved to Houston 3 years ago and my skin got worse even though I was chugging 8 cups a day. Turns out high humidity plus extra water just makes your face look puffy, not clear. My dermatologist in the Heights told me that overhydration can actually flush out electrolytes and mess with oil production. She showed me a study from 2021 where people in dry climates saw benefits but folks in wet climates didn't. So the 'gallon a day' crowd is probably giving bad advice depending on where you live. Has anyone else noticed this difference after moving to a new city?

Read a similar thing from a skincare researcher on YouTube, she said water intake needs to match your environment's humidity level otherwise you're just flushing your system. Sounds like that dermatologist in the Heights really knows her stuff, wish I had that info before my move here. People don't realize that skin hydration is more about balance than just downing gallons of water.

Flushing your system"? That's a wild way to put it. I honestly had no idea humidity levels messed with hydration like that.
