I used to sift flour with a fork like a caveman, now I own 3 sieves and a problem
For about 2 years I dumped flour straight from the bag and mashed the lumps out with a fork, which meant my banana bread always had these little dry pockets in it. Then my aunt Linda watched me bake at her place in Sacramento and just handed me her old mesh strainer without saying a word. Turns out 10 seconds of sifting is all it takes, and now I own 3 of them for no real reason. Does anyone actually use the fancy crank sifters or are we all just shaking a strainer like a maraca?
