Hot take: I stopped using clippers on the sides and my fades got way cleaner
I ran a 2 guard up the sides on every fade for like 6 months straight at my shop in Dayton, and honestly thought I was fast. Then a guy sat in my chair with a picture and asked for a skin fade, and I did my usual thing with the guard first. He looked at the mirror and said, 'man it looks blunt right here,' and pointed at the line above his ear. I switched to doing all my debulking with just the clipper blade open, then guards after, and the blend takes me 4 minutes less now. Anyone else do their guard work after the blade instead of before?
