Finally picked the spoke ruler over the tension meter, and my wheel build came out dead true
Had a rear wheel on my bench Friday that kept going out of true no matter how much I fiddled with the tension meter. I almost bought a nicer meter but decided to just use the cheap spoke ruler I got for $12 at the shop in Columbus. Turns out I was chasing the wrong thing, the drive side tensions were all over the place and the ruler showed it right away. Got the wheel done in 40 minutes instead of the 2 hours I wasted the week before. Anyone else find themselves reaching for the simple ruler more than the meter?
