I was wrong about those cheap carbon paste compounds
I always figured a quality grease was fine for carbon seatposts, but a creaking issue on a customer's bike last week proved me wrong. After cleaning and applying a specific brand, Park Tool SAC-2, the noise was completely gone. Anyone have a go-to brand for this that holds up better in wet conditions?

The Park Tool SAC-2 is good, but I switched to the Finish Line Fiber Grip paste a few years back. It has a slightly thicker texture that seems to lock in and resist water a bit better for me. I've used it on a few commuter bikes that see all weather, and it holds up. It's basically the same idea, just a bit more tenacious.

What about the finish line stuff? I've heard their paste is pretty solid for wet rides. That park tool one is good but can wash out.

You're right about Finish Line, @sagew50, their wet lube is a classic for a reason. But that Park Tool paste washing out? That hasn't been my experience at all if you put it on right. Maybe they used too thin a layer? A good coat of that stuff should handle a downpour.
