My book club switched to discussing TV shows last month.

We used to only talk about novels. Now everyone's into limited series. Historical dramas are the favorite right now. I need some recommendations to join in.

What historical periods is your club focused on? Since @david_adams mentioned visuals pulling people in, are you all sticking to British history or exploring other eras too?

Ask why the club made the switch from books to TV shows. Is it cause people got tired of novels? Or maybe no one has time to read anymore? Historical dramas can be long and slow, so what keeps everyone hooked? Give me the real reasons so I can point you to good shows.

Nah, it's not about being tired of novels or having no time. Books are still good, but TV shows make history feel real right in front of you. Think about series like "The Crown" where the costumes and settings pull you in. Long dramas work because you live with the characters week to week, getting invested. The club likely switched to tap into that visual storytelling that books can't do. It's about a different kind of hook, not dreading pages.
