Paid for a week pass and lost the show in 48 hours

Last month I paid $14.99 for a 7-day pass on a smaller streaming site because they had this indie detective series I kept hearing about. I watched the first two episodes on day one, got busy with work, and came back on day three to find the whole show removed from the platform due to some licensing mess. The site said no refunds because the pass was already used. That's $15 gone and I never finished the season. Has anyone else had a show vanish mid-binge on a platform they paid for?
