Remember when we had to wait a whole week for the next episode?

I was at my cousin's place last Saturday night and we started talking about how we used to watch Lost back in 2004, gathering around the TV at 9pm sharp every Wednesday. Now I just click 'next episode' at 2am in my pajamas and burn through a whole season in two days. Does anyone else feel like we've lost something special with that waiting and anticipation?

Oh man, that Lost era was something else, right? I get what you mean about losing that magic with the instant gratification now. Waiting a whole week felt unbearable but it made every episode hit different, like you'd spend days theorizing with friends at school or work. Binge watching is cool for convenience but it kind of blurs everything together, you know? I honestly miss that shared hype where everyone watched at the same time and you couldn't escape spoilers the next day.

Binge watching is way better and I'll die on that hill honestly. @margaret_kelly55 I get the nostalgia for waiting but you're forgetting how annoying it was to build up a theory all week only for the next episode to totally ruin it with some dumb twist. Missing the premiere because of traffic or a flat tire meant you missed the whole conversation at the water cooler next day. Now I can pause, rewind, and even rewatch confusing parts without waiting for a rerun in syndication. The "shared hype" was mostly just people yelling spoilers in the comments anyway, and I don't miss having to avoid the internet for 24 hours after a big episode. Give me 2am pajama bingeing any day where I control the pace and the spoiler risk.

Binge eaters unite, I guess?
