Teaching new players the turn order wrong for 3 straight months

I was hosting a weekly game night in Austin and it took my group until last Tuesday to tell me I had been shuffling the turn order card backwards the whole time, so now I'm wondering how many other basic rules do we just silently get wrong and never question?
