Warning: I called Star Realms a luckfest for 4 months, then a guy at my Tuesday meetup tracked 30 of my games
I have been trash talking Star Realms at my Tuesday night meetup in Grand Rapids for about 4 months now, mostly because I kept losing to the same guy, Dave. Last week he pulled out a notebook where he had written down the winner of every single game we played since March, turns out I was 11 and 19. He pointed out that in 14 of my losses I bought a trade card in the first two turns instead of a combat card, which put me behind on damage every time. I looked at the numbers and he was right, my openings were just bad, the shuffling had nothing to do with it. Now I buy combat first, maybe 3 games out of 4, and my win rate since has been 6 out of 9. Has anyone else had a friend basically do a research project on their losing streak to prove a point?
