I was totally wrong about the ending of 'Project Hail Mary'

In our Seattle book club, I argued for 20 minutes that the main character should have gone home. Then my friend Mike pointed out a single line on page 312 about the character's new sense of purpose. It completely flipped my view of the whole book's final choice. Anyone else have a book club moment where one detail changed your whole take?

Wait, you're telling me it was just one line? That's crazy... I argued about that ending for weeks and never caught that. Makes the whole last chapter feel different now.
