Rant: I stopped pressing my signatures with a bone folder and my spines got worse
Everyone says you need to bone fold every signature flat before sewing. I did that for 3 months on my journals and the spines kept cracking when I opened them. Then a binder at the Oakland shop told me to try leaving the fold rounded instead. I tried it on 6 books last week and the spines open flat with no cracking. Has anyone else found that less pressing actually helps?
