Does booking flights on a Tuesday actually save money or is that a myth?
I always planned trips around Tuesday flight bookings but last week my cousin snagged a Friday deal for $50 less than my Wednesday find. That moment made me wonder if I've been following a hack that doesn't really work anymore. What's your take on timing flights for the cheapest prices?

Yeah you hit on something real with that "doesn't really work anymore" feeling. Airlines caught on to the Tuesday trick years ago and started adjusting their pricing algorithms so it's not as reliable now. I actually tested this myself last month by checking the same route to Phoenix every day for two weeks straight and the cheapest day was a Monday afternoon at 3pm, not Tuesday. The real hack nobody talks about is that it matters way more which specific flight you pick on any given day rather than which day you book. Like a 6am Tuesday flight will almost always be cheaper than a 7pm Friday flight but the booking day barely changes anything anymore. Have you tried looking at flights for the same route at different times of day to see the price jumps?

Wait, did you really check every day for two weeks? That's dedication, I love it. @paigem45 I did something similar with a Chicago trip last spring and found the same thing - the specific time of day matters way more than the day of the week. Like the 5:30pm Thursday flight was fifty bucks more than the 11am Thursday flight on the same airline. It's wild how much you can save just by being willing to fly at weird hours.
