Just hit 15,000 miles on $32 of gas, still don't believe it
I drove from Austin to Santa Fe last weekend and back, which is about 1,100 miles total. My 2004 Corolla gets crazy highway mileage, but I kept my speed at 62 mph the whole way and used the cruise control on every flat stretch. Filled up once at a Love's in Lubbock for $32 and again in Amarillo for $28, so around $60 for the whole trip. Idk if that's a record but my buddy said his SUV would've cost triple. Has anyone else tried the slow-lane trick on a long haul and seen numbers like that?

Sixty bucks for 1,100 miles is solid, but calling it a "record" is a stretch. My neighbor's Prius does that on a single tank and he's not even trying to be slow. Though honestly, the real trick is the 62 mph part, because that's exactly the speed where I start questioning every life choice I've ever made to be that patient with the passing lane.
