My mom's habit of booking off-season trips pays off
She plans family vacations right after school starts when prices drop. We just got back from a beach trip that cost way less than peak summer.

Yeah, we do that too. Booked a mountain resort in late fall, cooler weather but way cheaper.

But @logan975, late fall often means everything's closed and the weather turns nasty. Saving money isn't worth a ruined vacation.

Actually, @anthony23 has a point about late fall, but that's way later than right after school starts. Early September weather is still totally fine and stuff is usually still open.
