Vent: Thought I scored a cheap flight, but baggage fees ate my savings.
Next time, I'm packing everything in a carry-on.

Switched to a rigid carry-on after a similar fee disaster. I now use packing cubes and roll everything, which fits a week's worth of clothes if you're strategic. It's a bit tight, but as nora513 pointed out, it beats paying more for your luggage than for your seat. My only remaining fear is the airline starting to charge for the overhead bin.
