The faded 'Coexist' sticker that changed my whole take on road rage
I used to think bumper stickers were mostly noise, especially the peace and love ones. But last Tuesday on I-75, this beat-up Prius with a sun-faded 'Coexist' sticker cut me off, then brake-checked a semi in a construction zone. I was furious, cursing out loud, until I got close enough to see the rest of the bumper. It had a second sticker underneath that said 'Try being kind, it costs less than therapy.' That slapped me sideways, honest. I realized I was the one raging at a stranger over a 30 second delay, totally missing the irony of my own hypocrisy. Now I actually read the bumper stickers when I'm stuck in traffic, and I've spotted three genuinely clever ones that made me laugh out loud. Has anyone else had a sticker call them out on their own bad behavior, or is it just me getting schooled by a Subaru?

The universe really does have a sense of humor, putting a peace sign on the bumper of the most aggressive driver on the interstate. Sounds like that Prius was doing community outreach the only way it knew how, by forcing everyone around it to practice mindfulness. Glad you got a free therapy session out of it, though I'm still waiting for a sticker to pay my co-pay.
