Am I the only one who used a $12 pair of work gloves for 9 months before figuring out they were cutting off my grip?
Last Tuesday I was loading pallets in Phoenix and a strap slipped out of my hand for the third time that shift, and a young guy on the dock asked why I kept fighting my own gloves. He pointed out the leather had stiffened up and the seams were pulling tight across my palm, so my hand could not close all the way. I grabbed a $6 pair of thinner goatskin gloves from the truck stop that night and my grip came back almost instantly. Nine months of blaming my hands when it was the gloves the whole time. Is there a glove you actually trust for heavy work, or do you just buy cheap ones and toss them every few weeks?
