Shoutout to the $4 roll of painter's tape that saved my inset doors
I had a set of inset cabinet doors for a kitchen job in Sacramento that kept binding on the left stile after finish went on. I tried sanding the edges three times and it just got worse, because the issue was the finish buildup, not the wood. A guy at my lumber yard told me to wrap the door edge in painter's tape before spraying, then peel it off and run a thin wax on the exposed edge. Door swings clean now and the reveal is even at 1/8 inch all the way around. Anybody else doing a tape mask on inset edges, or do you just cut back the finish with a card scraper?
