My cooler lid snap broke on day three, but duct tape saved the trip

Was sure all our food was ruined when the latch gave out. A roll of tape from the car kept everything cold for two more days. Felt like a win after a rough start.

Trust duct tape every time.

Totally get that duct tape save! My cooler hinge cracked last summer on a fishing trip, and I used tape to keep it shut for three days. Even after rain soaked the tape, it held strong and kept the ice from melting. I've tried bungee cords before, but they can snap back and hurt you if you're not careful. Duct tape molds to the shape and just sticks, no matter what. What kind of tape did you use for your fix?

Duct tape doesn't hold up if it gets wet. @the_riley, I've switched to bungee cords for cooler lids. They just work better.
