Showerthought: My new folding chair snapped shut with me in it

I had to be rescued by my friends while stuck in a tiny metal sandwich.

Tried to set up a folding chair for my nephew's birthday party last spring. It collapsed under me so fast I just sort of folded into the lawn with a squeak. Spent a good minute just lying there, wondering how I messed up something so simple. My sister laughed so hard she cried before she even helped me up. Your metal sandwich situation beats my sad lawn pancake for sure. Makes me feel like we should both stick to solid furniture from now on.

Got some decent sand from the hardware store and worked it into the deep spots with my hands. Filled them almost level, then scattered some extra grass seed over top. Watered that patch every morning for a week. The grass came in thicker there than anywhere else in the yard. Looks fine now, you'd never know I did a face plant.
