Canceled a creator I liked, then saw the receipts and felt dumb
There was this food blogger in Austin I followed for years. She posted a half apology about some old tweets and I jumped to defend her in the comments. Then someone linked the actual screenshots, not just the summaries. It showed she said the n-word multiple times in 2012, and one tweet was about making a slur joke about her own audience. I sat there for an hour feeling like a fool. She got dropped by two brands and deactivated her account last Tuesday. I'm not saying canceling is always right, but I learned to read the full thread before picking a side. Has anyone else backed a person publicly and regretted it after seeing the real evidence?
