PSA: My aunt's old comments resurfaced and split our family on how to respond
I mean, my aunt had some bad tweets from years ago go viral last month. Some relatives want to post online that we don't support her views, but others say that's betraying family and should be talked about privately. Idk, maybe it's just me, but this whole thing feels like cancel culture hitting too close to home. Where do you stand, is it fair to call out family in public or should it stay between us?

Ugh isn't it the worst when family stuff goes public? Same thing happened when my cousin's old blog posts got dug up (it was a whole mess). Honestly feels like you can't escape it anymore.

Hold on, old blog posts? That's wild. I remember when my sister's LiveJournal from 2005 got shared around. She had written about all her teenage drama and now it's just out there. It feels like nothing is ever really deleted. People really need to let the past stay buried.
