That one friend who insisted Firefly would get revived... still waiting

I had this buddy in 2016 who kept telling me Firefly was totally coming back. He found some interview with Joss Whedon and a mention on a fan site and swore up and down it was a done deal. I was skeptical but he was so confident I actually believed him for a while. Three years later and nothing happened, not even a whisper from a network. He still brings it up every time we talk about canceled shows but now I just laugh. Has anyone else had a friend or family member give you really bad info about a show's chances?

Oh man, you got me there. I actually waited like three years to finally sit down and watch it. Built it up in my head so much that by the time I hit play I was already mad at it before the opening scene even started. Ended up pausing it halfway through to make popcorn and then forgot to unpause for like two days. When I finally got back to it I had to rewind because I had no clue what was happening. So nah I did watch it but my brain was checked out the whole time. Not proud of that one.
