A $40 junkyard alternator saved my road trip but the cracked bumper almost ended it
I was 300 miles into a drive to Flagstaff when my battery light popped on, and swapping in a $40 alternator from a wrecked Civic got me home while the dealer wanted $400. Now I'm staring at a cracked front bumper on the same car wondering if that crack is even worth fixing or if I should just let it ride, what would you do?
