Spent 4 hours trying to fix a door that only needed a 10 minute adjustment

I had a client in Denver call me about a interior door that was sticking on the top corner. I figured it was a hinge pin issue so I started pulling pins and swapping them around. After 3 hours of messing with shims and rehanging the whole thing, it still caught on the frame. Turns out the house had settled just enough that the jamb was out of whack by like a 16th of an inch. Took me maybe 10 minutes with a block plane to shave that corner down and it swung perfect. Anyone else ever chase a problem for way too long only to find a dead simple fix?

That "16th of an inch" bit hit home... it's always the tiny things that eat up your whole day, isn't it? I've noticed that same pattern everywhere, like spending an hour looking for your keys when they were in your pocket the whole time.

Dude, "the tiny things eating up your whole day" is way too real. It's like the universe knows exactly how to mess with your head by hiding the one thing you need in plain sight. I swear I've spent more time looking for my phone while holding it than I want to admit. That 16th of an inch thing really gets me too, because it's never the big problems that trip you up, it's the stupid small stuff that makes you feel like you're losing your mind. Glad I'm not the only one who gets stuck in that loop, honestly it makes me feel a little less crazy.
