Hot take: the 79 cent store brand mac and cheese beats the $1.50 name brand and I'm tired of pretending it doesn't
Made both for my kids this week. Same pot, same butter, same milk. The cheap one came out creamier and the powder mixed in smooth. The fancy box had this weird grainy thing going on. My 11 year old actually asked why the usual one tasted funny. So now I buy 6 boxes of the store brand for under 5 bucks and dinner is done. Am I crazy here or has anyone else done this taste test side by side?
