Gas station sushi saved my night shift last Friday
I was working a double behind the bar and forgot to pack dinner. By 10pm I was starving and the kitchen was closed. Ran to the 7-Eleven down the block and grabbed a $4.99 spicy tuna roll from their cooler. Figured I'd regret it but I was desperate. Honestly it hit the spot and I didn't get sick at all. Has anyone else tried the gas station sushi gamble and come out okay?

The bar you work at - was it slammed that night or pretty dead? Curious if the sushi decision was more about pure desperation or if you figured the worse case scenario was worth the risk either way. I ask because parking lot sushi has its own tier of chaos that makes the whole thing feel like a real test of character.

...but you are the reason they keep selling it. I mean come on, nobody actually thinks gas station sushi is fresh right? Its been sitting in that cooler since maybe Tuesday and you paid five bucks for a gamble that could have ended with you hugging a toilet all night. Just because you got lucky this one time doesn't mean its a good idea. Food poisoning from old fish is no joke and the bar you work at probably would have had to find a replacement for your shift anyway.
