Manual lathe vs CNC for one-off repair parts, which side are you on?
Had a customer bring in a cracked pump flange last week, and I turned it on the old manual lathe in about 40 minutes while my CNC sat idle waiting on a program. I get that CAM and a tool changer win on repeat runs, but for a one-off with weird dimensions and no print, dialing it in by hand still feels faster than modeling anything. Curious if the folks running production shops here would just program it anyway.
