Been running the same old Haas VF-2 for 12 years and a new guy showed me something last Thursday

This kid fresh out of trade school asked if he could tweak my spindle load meter settings. Said I was wasting time watching it peak at 120% and then backing off. He showed me how to set a roughing pass to ride at 135% for 8 seconds before easing up. I've been doing this 18 years and never thought to push it that hard. Any of you guys run spindle loads higher than the book says?

Man, I wouldn't touch those settings on a 12 year old machine.
