Hit 10,000 hours running a CNC lathe and it hit me different

Ten years of chip cutting and I just passed 10,000 hours of run time on my main machine last week. Anyone else get that weird feeling when you realize how many parts you've made? What milestone made you stop and think?

Hit a decade on my bandsaw last year and realized I'd sharpened or broke more blades than I've had hot dinners. Funny how the shop becomes a second home without you noticing.

The "shop becomes a second home" part hits hard. Once you've spent that many hours in a space, you start noticing how the same thing happens in other parts of life. Like I've got a coffee shop I've been going to for years and I didn't realize it was basically my living room until the barista started knowing my order before I sat down. It's weird how those routines sneak up on you.

Have you ever had that moment where someone else orders for you before you even open your mouth? It's a wild feeling, like you've accidentally become part of their family. Totally get what you mean about routines sneaking up - I catch myself driving to the same gas station out of habit even when it's out of the way. What's the coffee shop's vibe like that makes it feel so much like home?
