I thought CAM nesting software was a waste of money, then a job in Toledo proved me dead wrong
We were cutting 3/8 plate on an old plasma table and scrapping about 20% of every sheet, so my lead finally bought the software and our scrap went to almost nothing in a month. Anyone else get dragged into an upgrade kicking and screaming like that?

The part about getting dragged in kicking and screaming hit home for me. I ran the same old nesting by hand for years and swore the software could not beat what I did with a marker and a calculator. Then our steel supplier raised prices and my scrap pile started looking like money on fire, so we made the switch and I have not looked back since.
