That time I learned my touch probe was lying for 6 months
I kept fighting parts coming out 0.002 off on the same hole every batch. Checked tram, spindle, tool holders, everything. Last week I put a known good pin in the spindle and manually jogged it down to the probe. Turns out the stylus had a tiny chip on the ball from when I crashed it back in March. Probed my reference block and it read 0.0018 low. Replaced the stylus for $45 and now every part checks dead on. Anyone else ever trust a bad probe for way too long just because it still triggered consistent?
